The Greatest

Little children are the greatest. They have purity in their hearts. They are innocent. They are loved by Jesus.

Once, Jesus and his disciples came to Capernaum. After they arrived at a house, Jesus asked the disciples, "What did you debate along the way?" They got quiet because along the way they had been debating with one another about who was the greatest or who was Jesus' favorite among them. The disciples asked Jesus who was the greatest. Jesus did not tell them who was the greatest or who his favorite was. Instead, Jesus took the hand of a child in the crowd and set him in the very midst of the disciples and told them "unless you change your hearts and become as a child, you can never enter into the kingdom of heaven".

In another instance, people were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples fended them off. When Jesus saw this, he was displeased. (Oh those disciples!) He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these". Then he says "anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

Hats off to all the little children. Yours is heaven. This post is my humble tribute to you.
